Capote Putting Vince & Infinity on Map

24 Hours after Oscar rolled his nominations out, the buzz around Capote producers at Vancouver's Infinity Features and Bill Vince, is starting to catch on. That small office on the edge of Chinatown is going to be ground zero for B.C. film for a while.

"When we started this film 21/2 years ago, we never expected to get this much mileage out of it, both in the business sense and in the creative sense, so this is great," said Vince. "The movie tested really well and people loved the movie but there was always the question, would it find its place in the commercial marketplace at the level of respect it is getting now."

Infinity was involved not only in producing Capote but it also held an equity stake in a partnership with MGM, United Artists and Sony Pictures Classics in the $7.5-million US film. It's an investment that promises to pay handsome dividends.Vince said the movie has already made $15 million and that figure is expected to climb to $30 million in the second run and $35 to $40 million worldwide in DVDs.
