From Lynne to Gugino

Everybody's favorite Vancouver film writer Lynne McNamara goes out on a real fact ridden, limb with the state of the nation of film in Vancouver in today's column:
I've been writing this column and chronicling local production for the past 15 years and I think it's safe to say that 2005 was the best year ever for the film and TV industry in BC. And word on the street is that 2006 could be even better -- perhaps due to possible union problems in L.A. coming up in 2007.

Here's some more upcoming films shooting around town that we can look foward to hearing nothing more that how many times they ate at Cin Cin from sweet Lynne.

*Ryan Reynolds - who's Canadian shot "Just Friends" is now up to very respectable $31,575,761 at the box office - returns home for the January 23rd shooting start of Chaos Theory. The film is, "A story within a story about an obsessively organized man (Reynolds) who finds out he is sterile -- and that his daughter was fathered by his best friend."

*Coming on the heals of the success of thier award winning Capote, and Just Friends, the local producers from Infinity Media, are gearing up for the Pierce Brosnan and Maria Bello drama "Butterfly on a Wheel". The film's plot: "A perfect family's dynamic is ruined by a kidnapper's brutally efficient plot."

*And it looks likely the lucious Carla Gugino, you might remember her from Sin City, is going to join Ben Stiller in the springs filming of A Night at the Museum. Which is nice for us. Carla, we'd be happy to check you out a Cin Cin or whatever. (via Hollywood North Report and TV Squad)
