Buzz Dump: Choked

The posting here at the Vancouverite is weird this week due to some scheduling problems. Not to fear - look out for some Wine Festival, Matt Pond, & Oscar coverage this weekend. So bear with us. But the show must go on:

*Cranky old talk show host Peter Warren is leaving the broadcast booth to become a private eye.

*Dose - the other free daily - is gaining readers. "Dose's total readership among 12-to-64 year olds in late January was up eight per cent from three months earlier, the survey found, and now sits at 270,423." Sure it is.

*Stay tuned for the full debrief this weekend, but this is a first. I noticed the new issue of Vancouver Magazine online, before at the newstands. Wow.

*Have you seen the new VW commercials? They are amazing.

*And I'm sure they will beat the 2-minute Toyota commercial that CTV is playing during the Oscars. Meanwhile the Oscar gift bags are totally smug.

*5 more West Wing episodes are remaining and the whole dang cast is returning to tie up the loose ends.

*Chuck Palahniuk's Choke seems to be finally moving towards the big screen. Which rocks - I couldn't pu this book down - then again I was reading while in Rankin Inlet. And more good news, besides Ben Stiller eating at Cin Cin (We get it McNamara!), Beck is on for Nacho Libre's soundtrack.
