The Morning News Feed

*The Vancouver Sun has the Olympics as the top front page story. Canada was expected to leave the first weekend of games with 4-5 medals, but are limping out with just two. The Sun also keeps up the Emerson coverage. 21,000 people have signed the petition on www.recalldavidemerson.com.
*The Province leads with the news on the cancelation of CBC's Da Vinci's City Hall. Clearly the Province has moved on from David Emerson - they had the upper hand of publishing yesterday - and prefers fake politicians anyway. They also front page the news of local artist Kwiam Choi who died on Grouse Mountain this weekend.
*Metro Vancouver tries to put a spin on the Olympic disapointments this weekend by featuring the two medal winners and the caption, speed demons. They also lead with the death of Kwiam Choi and the headline, "Mountains Claim fifth".

Democracy is nothing more than a socially accepted regime of governance. In this regime, voters place their trust in a person to represent them. Lack of respect to the natural laws of trust, and indeed Canadian trust legislations, ruins democracy, and breaks down the relationship between "the elected" and "the elector".
It is a dishonorable act for anyone to represent people who no longer trust him. If that is the case, David Emerson should relinquish his seat and resign as a Member of Parliament.
The only way to find out if Mr Emerson has lost his constituents trust or not is to face a re-election. That'll solve the issue once and for all.
