Vancouver Papers: The Return of the Super Fans

Over in The Province the good times just keep coming with their headline story, "ICBC wants brain-injured crash victim declared dead." And call me crazy, but having Ed Willes tell me "Just relax, Vigneault has a plan" doesn't fill me with confidence. And then there is the most obnoxious promo ever: "Evil versus evil Two movies. The evil Jack Nicholson in The Departed versus the evil Bubbles in The Trailer Park Boys: The Movie. FRIDAY IN E-TODAY" Yeah. Okay.
24 Hours tries to give 'er. It is completely out of control. I thought it was Kiss on the cover. But no, this is the winning team from the eighth annual United Way Chili Cook-off that took place at the City Hall - which is perfect, since no actual city business ever seems to get done there why not turn it into a chilli cookoff zone. The winners, Detroit Rock Chilli were the City of Vancouver's street design engineers. Meanwhile the Sam Sullivan totally burned some condo owners in False Creek with a 700 percent leasehold payment hike proving that he may in fact be evil. This is by no means scientific but I think the paper's biggest article is about Battlestar Galactica. Which is nice. Chilli and Sci-Fi.
