It's Sunday March the 12 around 10:15AM and
Sunday Styles: No. 9.

*It seems just like yesterday we were astonished by sandal wearing yokels walking around downtown causing the wrath of mother nature with snow fluries. Now, The New York Times has a whole damned article about Birkenstocks. The director of the upcoming Thank You For Smoking jokingly suggests the sandals are, "emblems of liberal do-gooderness." Not that there is anything particularly wrong with that.
*The Sun's Lynne McNamara wastes a couple hundred words on movie ticket sales before getting to the nuts and bolts of her, ahem, column. First off - calling Maple Ridge HollyRidge is just dumb, I don't care how many millions of film dollars is being dumbed there it is still Maple Ridge. Secondly, the fact that movie stars buy books is so underwealming as to be comical. And really, who is kidding whom, Jessica Alba doesn't read books. I thought she just walked around in a bikini everywhere.
*Profile of the amazingly grumpy, but not really, Simon Cowell. $30 million a year from Fox? Wow.
*The Sopranos is back on tonight. Which pretty much tmakes tonight a great night of TV by default. The fact that HBO.com had the episode recap up online for awhile was interesting - we had to look, yikes. Until then, here's some things to look forward to this season. Tony's fatter, someone gets wacked, etc. [Sopranos Field Guide]
*Remember in the late '90's and The Gap was damn near culturally significant? Slate reports on what happened to the brand. Honestly who knew that between 2002 and 2006, "Gap North America outlets fell from 1,599 to 1,335, a 15 percent decline." This is even more amusing, "Or perhaps, pace Jared Diamond, there's some Darwinian cycle whereby a retailing chain that expands recklessly beyond its natural habitat exhausts resources, gets sick, starts to whither, and ultimately faces Collapse." Ouch. Love it. Perhaps the clothes just suck.
